Lyrics and Music by CjRay

The tragedy of the event in Parkland, Florida hit very close to home. As a Las Vegas resident, I knew too well the heartache and emotions involved with a mass shooting. While my family and I were not personally affected, we still bared the pain and anger from those involved. It was through these emotions this song emerged. As a singer/song writer, I hope we can find a way to heal the sickness that has evolved within our society and that this song brings healing, hope and a tool for positive change. – CjRay

LYRICS

Seventeen souls lost today

They paid a price no one should pay

kids fled through haze

Like mice in a Maze

Guns to blame and

Video games

Hollywood the NRA

Different names but all the same

We claim to want change

But we buy the things that poison our brains

Can you feel the pain

Everybody listen up

We gotta turn this around

Can we say enoughs enough

Get off the ledge come back down

There’s so much that we all can blame on others

Still we all must face

The image in the mirror

The ambulance is on its way

Students trapped parents pray

A teacher gave his life

He had a baby and a wife

Drugs in play?

We’ve gone insane

déjà vu with different names

Lives destroyed

Tears fall like rain

We’re hypnotized

We serve the lies

Now is the time

To open our eyes

Everybody listen up

We gotta turn this around

Gotta say enoughs enough

Stand up and never back down

There’s so much that we all can blame on others

Still we all must face

The image in the mirror

The image in the mirror

Bridge

Everybody listen up

We gotta turn this around

Gotta say enoughs enough

Get off the ledge come back down

There’s so much that we all can blame on others

Still we all must face

The image in the mirror
